Congregational Meeting and Lunch
Sunday, January 27, 11:30 AM
Join us the CCH Annual Meeting and Lunch following worship on Sunday, January 27. This is the most important church meeting of the year and will include the approval of the 2019 budget and election of officers and committee members. Everyone is invited to bring their "signature" dish to share in our potluck lunch. Given the quality of cooks in our congregation this promises to be a wonderful meal!

2019 2nd Effort Pledge Drive
At this Sunday's annual meeting the Trustees will present the congregation's 2019 budget. Unfortunately, at this point the projected budget has a significant deficit. We have a large loss of pledges this year due to deaths and relocations. This means that our pledge income is down by almost 20%. Now, as much as ever, we need all of our members to make a significant financial commitment to the ministries of our church. If you have not made a pledge, or you can increase the pledge you have submitted, please email our financial secretary, Marion Munch, or bring your pledge card to the meeting on Sunday.

A yoga class is being offered to all adult church members on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 pm in the Sanctuary. Bonnie and Kristin bring their long-standing love of yoga and their instructor Marie Cruz to the CCH community. Yoga offers many positive benefits to the body, mind and spirit through the practice of meditation and mindfulness. As another busy holiday season approaches, yoga can help us find the balance we all seek. The class is $20.00 per session. For more details call Bonnie or Kristin at 516.922.9525 or Sue at the Church office.

Federal Shutdown Assistance
As the shutdown of the federal government persists there are many furloughed employees facing tough financial decisions. There is help at the following places:
- Northport Food Pantry is assisting federal employees from Northport/East Northport, Fort Salonga, Greenlawn and Centerport. They are located in the First Presbyterian Church of Northport and are open from 10:00 AM-Noon on Monday-Thursday.
- The Greater Huntington Council of Yacht and Boating Clubs is collecting gift cards for groceries and gas to assist members of the Eaton's Neck Coast Guard Station.
If you would like to help you can bring groceries or gift cards to the church and we will make sure they get to the right places.

Pastor's Book Group
What better for the cold of February than a funny around-the-world trip with a wonderful book. "Less," by Andrew Sean Greer is a Pulitzer prize winning novel that follows a down-on-his-luck author, Arthur Less, as travels on a writer's junket and in the process struggles with the sources of his writer's and relationship blocks. From a reviewer: "Like Arthur, Andrew Sean Greer’s “Less” is excellent company. It’s no less than bedazzling, bewitching and be-wonderful."
The next discussion meeting will be at the home of Norman and Sylvia Kellershon on Wednesday, February 22, at 7:30 PM.
