A yoga class is being offered to all adult church members on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 pm in the Sanctuary. Bonnie and Kristin bring their long-standing love of yoga and their instructor Marie Cruz to the CCH community. Yoga offers many positive benefits to the body, mind and spirit through the practice of meditation and mindfulness. As another busy holiday season approaches, yoga can help us find the balance we all  seek. The class is $20.00 per session. For more details call Bonnie or Kristin at 516.922.9525 or Sue at the Church office.

2019 Pledge Drive

Thank you to everyone who has submitted their 2019 pledge. A pledge is an estimate of what you will give to the church for the coming year. It is both an important spiritual practice to make a commitment to generosity, and it is an essential piece of information for our Trustees to make a budget for next year.

So far we have collected 30 pledges, out of a goal of 75. We will have a long way to go. Send in our drop off your pledge card. Or go on-line and set-up a recurring electronic pledge donation. You may may also email your pledge to our financial secretary, Marion Munch.

Become a Member!

Do you want to be part of a dynamic movement for an inclusive sharing of God's love in our world? Then you should become a member of CCH. Pastor Mark is forming a new member class for this to join later this fall. To participate speak to him after worship or via email

Pastor's Book Group

Special Guest: Anne Canadeo

Anne Canadeo is a member of our church who does a tremendous amount to help other people. When she is not organizing HIHI or the Peace and Plenty program she is a professional writer with more than thirty books to her credit, including the popular mystery series the Black Sheep Knitters. Our book selection for this month is the latest book in this series, "Purls and Poison." Anne will join us to discuss this book, her writing process and the mystery of why mysteries are so popular. The group will meet on Thursday, November 29, 7:30 PM, place to be announced.

Worship Calendar

November 25: A Giving List
In this intergenerational service Pastor Mark will provide a response to the  Black Friday madness. Make a giving list to accompany your wish list!

December 2: Advent 1/Communion
We begin our preparations for Christmas with this Advent communion service. There will also be a meeting following worship to assign parts for the Christmas pageant.

Volunteers Needed

Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative
We will once again be providing volunteers to house homeless people from Huntington in local houses of worship during the winter months. There are sign-up sheets at the church for you to chose your dates to help.

Northport Food Pantry

We collect food for the Northport Food pantry each week at our church. Please place donations in the box by the church office.

Peace and Plenty Food Outreach:   Peace and Plenty is in need of plastic grocery bags to deliver their lunches each week. Bring any extra to the church. You are invited to help make sandwiches and prepare snacks for children in Huntington. Peace and Plenty will meets on Mondays at 6:30 PM. They are also in need of donations of lunch meats and cheeses, fruit and healthy snacks.

Cooks Needed for the Peace & Plenty program
We're looking for a few volunteers who can help us send the Tri CYA trays of
cooked food such as baked ziti, chicken and rice, pasta with meatballs or meat sauce, etc. Most children at the Tri CYA receive free breakfast and lunch at school during the school year and rely on the Tri CYA  for at least one nutritious meal. We try to support that effort with some substantial dishes, beyond sandwiches.  Some of the food may also be sent to individuals unable to get out to food pantries and living with food shortages. If you would like to help  please contact Anne:

Coffee Hour Volunteers Needed

Hosting our fellowship hour is one of the best ways to help to build our community. All you need to do is to bring a few snacks, come early to set-up the coffee and then put everything away afterward. And the Membership Committee members are always available to help any newbies. Don't worry about bringing much food–just a little snack, please.

Also, the membership committee is going to try something new for coffee. They will have regular (caffeinated} coffee to be brewed in the big coffee pot and will have decaffeinated Keurig pods for those who wish to avoid the caffeine. Please let the committee know what you think.
