Youth Planning Meeting
Sunday, November 19, 2017, 11:30 AM
All 6-12th graders and their parents are invited to a youth planning meeting to discuss upcoming service projects and the possibility of forming a Youth Leadership Council for the church.
There are several upcoming projects that we need to start working on. The annual Advent party is on Sunday, December 3. The youth group traditionally serves a spaghetti dinner to raise money to fund our Adopt-A-Family program at Christmas. An additional winter service project is serving at the Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative.
In addition to planning these service projects we are going to discuss the possibility of establishing a youth leadership council for the church. This group would be made up of teens who wish to help organize and plan events for the youth group. In addition they would participate in leadership building activities with pastor Mark and would give input to the church council on issues of concern to our young people.
Please join us for this important meeting!

Pastor's Book Group
Regina’s Calcaterra memoir, Etched in Sand, is an inspiring and triumphant coming-of-age story of tenacity and hope. This Long Island based memoir will is the October selection for the Pastor's Book Group. The group will meet on Wednesday, November 29, 7:30 PM at Dot and Krista's home. From the publisher: Regina Calcaterra is a successful lawyer, New York State official, and activist. Her painful early life, however, was quite different. Regina and her four siblings survived an abusive and painful childhood only to find themselves faced with the challenges of the foster-care system and intermittent homelessness in the shadows of Manhattan and the Hamptons. A true-life rags-to-riches story, Etched in Sand chronicles Regina’s rising above her past, while fighting to keep her brother and three sisters together through it all.
