Church Program Updates
by Pastor Mark
Lent has begun. The season started with our Ash Wednesday service a couple of days ago. Thank you to the choir for their beautiful music and the Deacons for setting a wonderful mood for the service.
As I have mentioned before my Lenten sermon series is “I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church, or Life!” Co-Senior Deacon Bonnie Dawkins has arranged to have copies of the book that inspired my sermon for sale at the church. Be sure to pick up a copy and give me your thoughts.
In addition to our Lenten study we have many activities coming up:
v Photography Exhibit Reception: A reception for the photographers of “A Mother’s Life” will be held on Sunday, March 1st from Noon-1:30 PM in the sanctuary. Refreshments will be served.
v Men’s Breakfast: Saturday, March 7th from 8:30-10 AM in Fellowship Hall. The guest speaker will be church member Dr. Richard Schaub, who will speak on “The End of Fear: A Spiritual Path for Realists”, the new book co-written with his wife Bonnie Gulino Schaub. Sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board.
v Pilgrim Fellowship Pancake Breakfast: Sunday, March 8, from 8:45-9:45 AM. Come support our PF youth group and enjoy breakfast before worship.
v Women’s Discussion Group: Tuesday, March 10 from 7-10 PM at Helen Bracco’s home. This month’s book is “A Journal for Jordan” by Dana Canedy, a poignant story of love and war. Please call Helen at 261-2572 to RSVP.
v Fair Trade Coffee: Our fair trade coffee order has arrived. Pick up you order after church on Sunday, or call Ellen DeOrsay to arrange pick-up.
It is a good, and busy, time at CCH.
